WHAT IS THE CUET?

CUET or the Central Universities Entrance Test is an all-India test that is conducted for admission to various Undergraduate, Postgraduate, and Research Programs at a number of Central and State Universities across India. Since 2021, the NTA or the National Testing Agency has been given responsibility for the administration of this exam.

As per the UGC Guidelines, formerly known as the CUCET or the Central Universities Common Entrance Test let all the central universities assess students’ standing on the basis of a single platform, that is, the CUCET scorecard. This was accepted by all the central universities as per their course availability.

And, now the CUET or the Common Universities entrance test has become compulsory for all the central universities in India, and even the state or regional universities along with the deemed and private universities can participate in the process as per their course availability. Here the Central universities mandatorily have to accept the CUET Scorecard, while for the state, regional, deemed, or private universities it is optional.

The CUET 2023 will be a computer-based exam for admissions to 45 Central Universities in India. The CUET 2023 will be conducted by the NTA or the National Testing Agency. A merit list will be created by the NTA after the CUET exam, on the basis of which the students will get admission to the Central Universities.
