The Notice to Candidates included in the IELTS Application Form contains the test regulations and instructions. We also recommend that you read the Information for Candidates booklet thoroughly so that you are familiar with the test structure and know what to expect on the test day.
Only pens, pencils, and erasers are allowed. The passport/national identity card you used on the IELTS Application Form must be brought to the exam. Everything else must be left outside the examination room. Mobile phones and other electronic devices must be turned off and placed in the designated area with personal items.
To provide test scores in an uniform way, IELTS uses a 9-band scoring system. On a scale of one to nine, you’ll receive individual band scores for Listening, Reading, Writing, and Speaking, as well as an Overall Band Score.
IELTS does not include a pass or fail option. The 9-band approach is used to grade the results. To meet its specific needs, each educational institution or organization establishes its own minimal IELTS scores.
